An A&R Hookup is an exclusive conference call workshop and demo review session by phone and Web with major and independent record company A&R, publishers and music supervisors. Each Hookup accommodates 10-15 attendees. However, most sessions do not exceed 10 attendees. Your A&R Live Hookup will be hosted by Stephen Strother, music consultant and CEO of A&R Music1.com. During the first 30 minutes of your session the host will move the music you submitted into the playlist and answer any quick questions that you may have before the industry guest joins the call.

Here’s what you can do to prepare for your A&R Live Hookup.

1. Be sure you have uploaded your music for your session per the instructions in your welcome email. If you have been unable to upload your music make sure that your music is in a MP3 format, created at 44.1 for CD quality and at a bit rate of 128 then upload again. This is the standard format for most MP3 software.

2. Be sure to prepare your questions in advance so you can make the most of your A&R Live Hookup and get your questions answered directly by our guest and moderator. You don’t need to send your questions to us.

3. It is important that you call in from a place that is quiet to eliminate any background noise.

4. If you plan to participate by Internet as well, go to ARMUSIC1.com and select A&R Hookup Zone from the main menu.

5. If you do not see your music listed on our playlist do not be alarmed. Your host will add your music to the playlist during sound check at the beginning of the Hookup.

Your music is uploaded as a MP3 to a special page on our website. The A&R listens to your music through a special page on our website. Your music is also played over the phone, using special audio technology, for attendees without web access. Keep in mind that the A&R is on the phone with you while your music is being reviewed.

1. Upon your receipt registration and payment, we'll send you a Order Number to upload your music to our website.
2. Create a profile on our website, log-in and upload your music. (Submission deadline is 3 hours before the start of the A&R Hookup).
3. Login and select MP3 Upload from the top menu to upload your music.

Note: There is no need to edit your MP3 to 90 seconds. We'll fade the volume after 90 seconds of play on the listening session.

To Mail in a CD
Please include the following information with your submission:

1. Your music submission must include the Order Number included with your registration receipt. If you have not yet registered, you must include a money order with the registration amount. If you have registered by Western Union wire please include your control number.
2. Your legal name and stage name (if applicable)
3. Title of your song submission
4. Your Title (producer, artist, songwriter, musician).
6. Your complete mailing address, contact telephone number and email address (if applicable).
7. Please write your artist number on the outside of your mailer and demo package.

IMPORTANT: Demo submissions by mail (like online submissions) require a pre-assigned artist number or money order for the registration amount. Submissions that do not meet this requirement are discarded. To obtain an artist# to submit your music, click REGISTER / GET HEARD ON A&R HOOKUP above.

NOTE: Do not send your music by certified mail. If your demo delivery is missed, because of time constraints, we will be unable to retrieve it from the post office.

The music industry guest listed on our A&R Registration Calendar will review your music live over the Internet through our website while talking with you by phone.

Our preference is to receive your music at least one day before the Hookup. However, you have until three hrs before each Hookup to upload your music. Submissions within 1 hour of the Hookup will incur a $20 rush processing fee to set up your music for the listening session.

If you see an error message stating that your credit card is invalid, this has most likely happened for one of the following reasons:
1. You have incorrectly entered your credit card number.
2. You have incorrectly entered your CVV code.
3. You have incorrectly entered your expiration date.
4. You have used a cancelled credit card to place your order.
5. Your card is restricted to point-of-sale transactions only (sales where your card is physically scanned).

Please double-check your credit card and/or with your bank to ensure that none of these problems have occurred. If you realize that you've made a mistake, simply return to the payment option page and enter in the correct information. Continue checking out as normal.

If you're still encountering problems, please contact us. However, at NO point should you ever e-mail us your full credit card number. Your e-mail does not have the same security features in place as the website. If you wish to reference a specific credit card that you already have on file with us, please reference by the order number.

If you believe that you have provided us with an incorrect CVV code or expiration date you may send us that corrected information via e-mail referencing by the order number.

If you believe that your card was declined due to insufficient funds, but now have those funds available, you may ask that we attempt to charge your credit card again.

If you believe that your card is restricted to point-of-sale transactions, you must either contact your bank about removing such restrictions, provide us with a different credit card, or choose a new payment method.

This is due to the internal process we must maintain to properly track your order through the system. Once an order number is assigned you may use it for all future references to that purchase.

Up to three songs per artist per A&R Hookup. So if you have more than one artist then each artist can submit up to three songs.

The A&R Live Hookups average 10 - 15 attendees with music submissions. However, there are many more attendees listening in on the call through our FREE Test Drive program.

Note: Our A&R Live Hookup capacity is based on the total number of song submissions and not the number of attendees. The max song submission capacity on a Hookup is 30. For instance, we could have a Hookup with 10 attendees with each attendee submitting only 3 songs each, that's combined song submission of 30 which is 100% (sold out). So don't wait until the last minute to register or the session could sell-out.

Keep in mind that VIP Members can attend Hookups that are listed as sold-out.

Important: If you decide to verify an A&R's participation it is very important that you DO NOT use your call as an opportunity to attempt to shop music to them. The A&R's on our Hookup program are very busy and do not accept unsolicited material from individuals.

When you register for a A&R Live Hookup, VIP Platinum Membership or A&R All Access Pass, you're guaranteed to have your music heard by an A&R, publisher or music supervisor in our network! We won't keep you wondering if your music has been reviewed like many other music submission services. You'll speak voice-to-voice with the A&R yourself, while your music is being reviewed, and receive live feedback on the spot!

If you are unable to attend we will record your music review and upload a MP3 recording or the session and feedback for review.
